At the First United Methodist Church Burleson, we believe that our first purpose in life is to worship our Creator God. We always seek to give our best to God in worship as a gathered community of faith. It is our deep desire that worship becomes a meaningful and vital part of each Christian life.
Our 9:00 a.m. Awake, our traditional sanctuary service is liturgical worship at its best. Regularly featuring our chancel choir and hymnody that includes some of the best hymns of our faith, our music and liturgy are designed to inspire the soul and take us to new heights as we worship through traditional symbols and acts of worship.
Our 11:00 a.m. Ignite, our contemporary sanctuary service is designed to be the best expression of ourselves through popular, contemporary Christian music. Regularly featuring our praise band, Orion, the contemporary service is designed to lift us up in praise as we draw ourselves as community of faith ever closer to the God of our salvation.
*We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month in both services. United Methodists practice an open table, so all are welcome to participate in the sacrament, regardless of age, church membership, or experience.
**Each Sunday (except when serving Holy Communion), we will have a time for children in both services. All children will be welcomed to come forward when called in the service.
Every Tuesday night, following a fellowship meal (at 5:30 p.m.), the Bridge Worship a casual, come as you are, interactive service, begins at 6:30 p.m. |

The Christian funeral service is the final dedication of a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, and, like the first dedication at baptism, occurs as an act of worship. The Gospel of Jesus Christ meets our deepest griefs and anxieties about death with an even deeper hope.
The congregation and it's pastor want to minister to families on the occasion of death. When a loved one dies, we hope you will contact our pastor, as his presence would be helpful to you, regardless of the hour.
The Christian funeral is a service of worship in which we thank God for the gifts of life, including those that extend beyond death. And we especially give God thanks for this special person who lived among us and who now, even in death, continues in God's love and care, and lives on in our memory.
The death of a member of our church should be reported to the pastor as soon as possible, and arrangements for the funeral should be made in consultation with him.

Baptism is the sacrament of initiation into the body of Christ, the Church, which joins the new member with Christians everywhere. It is the beginning of a life long process of growth in Christ. It is ordained by Christ and can be received only once, but its effects are lasting. The United Methodist Church recognizes any Christian baptism.
Parents who make the decision to have their child baptized are acting as agents of God's love. They promise to teach their child by example to accept God's grace, live their faith, and lead a Christian life. At the time of baptism a covenant is established with the child's family who promise to join with God in raising the child in a Christ like way by the power of the Holy Spirit.
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." - Proverbs 22:6 NIV
